People say the future is uncertain and we are anxious about it. But I think we feel uneasy, not about the uncertain future per se but about our ability to forecast what will be happening in the future. Yet, we need to know forecasting is one of the most passive human behaviors since the target of forcast is always the third party; no one says he forecasts about his own action. Our obsession with forcasting of the future, therefore, is a sign reflecting the fact that we fail to draw a picture of our future in an active manner. If the future is in our hands, why do we worry so much about it? Couldn’t we then just move forward as we have planned?
